Depression & Emotional Regulation Therapy
When emotions feel too heavy to carry or too big to control, it can feel isolating — like something is wrong with you rather than something you're going through. Therapy can help you understand what's happening and build a different relationship with these emotions.
What This Can Look Like
Clients come to me while navigating:
Persistent low mood, heaviness, or loss of motivation
Difficulty regulating intense emotions
Self-harm or urges to self-harm
Anger that feels hard to control or that shows up in ways you don't want
How We Work Through It Together
This work is never about judgment — it's about understanding what your emotions are communicating and building tools to respond differently. In our work together, we may draw on:
DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) — skills for managing intense emotions and reducing harmful coping patterns
CBT — working through the thought patterns that fuel depression or reactive anger
ACT and mindfulness — building space between a feeling and your response to it
Mind-body somatic practices — nervous system-informed work, since emotional dysregulation often has a physical component
A Space Without Judgment
Whatever you're experiencing, you don't have to minimize it or wait until things feel "bad enough." Reaching out is a strong first step.
