Substance Use & Addiction Therapy
Whether you're questioning your relationship with substances, working toward change, or supporting your recovery long-term, this is a space free of shame or judgment.
What This Can Look Like
Clients come to me while navigating:
Questioning whether substance use has become a problem
Wanting to cut back or stop, and needing support to get there
Maintaining recovery and preventing relapse
Understanding what's underneath the substance use — stress, trauma, grief, or other pain it's been covering
Rebuilding relationships or trust affected by substance use
How We Work Through It Together
Addiction is rarely just about the substance itself — it's often connected to what a person is coping with underneath. I work from a harm reduction model, meeting you where you are rather than requiring a specific goal like total abstinence before we begin In our work together, we may draw on:
CBT — identifying triggers and building new patterns of response
DBT-informed tools — for managing intense emotions and urges without turning to substances
ACT and mindfulness — building a different relationship with cravings and discomfort
Mind-body somatic practices — nervous system-informed work, since substance use is often a nervous system coping strategy
Liberation psychology lens — understanding your experience within its fuller social, cultural, and systemic context, not just as an individual failing
A Space Without Judgment
You don't need to have "hit rock bottom" or be in crisis to reach out. Wherever you are in your relationship with substances, this is a space to be honest without fear of judgment.
