ADHD & Neurodivergence Therapy
Living with ADHD or other forms of neurodivergence can affect much more than attention or organization. Many adults experience chronic overwhelm, difficulty managing responsibilities, emotional intensity, executive functioning challenges, or years of feeling misunderstood despite working incredibly hard.
Therapy provides a collaborative space to better understand how your brain works, build practical strategies that fit your life, and reduce the shame and self-criticism that often develop after years of struggling to meet expectations that were never designed with neurodivergent minds in mind.
Please note: I provide psychotherapy for ADHD and neurodivergence. I do not prescribe medication or provide psychiatric medication management. If medication is part of your treatment goals, I am happy to collaborate with your primary care physician or psychiatrist as part of your overall care.
Common Reasons People Seek Therapy
Adults with ADHD or other neurodivergent experiences often seek therapy for concerns such as:
Difficulty with organization, planning, or time management
Feeling overwhelmed by everyday responsibilities
Executive functioning challenges
Emotional dysregulation or feeling emotions intensely
Chronic procrastination or difficulty starting tasks
Difficulty maintaining routines
Burnout from masking or constantly trying to "keep up"
Low self-esteem after years of feeling misunderstood or criticized
Workplace, academic, or relationship challenges related to ADHD
Anxiety or depression occurring alongside ADHD
Exploring a recent ADHD diagnosis or learning more about your neurodivergent identity
Many clients come to therapy because they are exhausted from spending years working twice as hard just to manage daily life.
My Approach
There is no single way to experience ADHD or neurodivergence. Therapy is individualized and focuses on understanding your unique strengths, challenges, values, and goals rather than trying to make you fit a predetermined standard.
Together, we work to develop practical strategies that support daily functioning while also addressing the emotional impact that often accompanies years of frustration, self-doubt, or feeling "not good enough."
Depending on your needs, therapy may incorporate:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Develop practical strategies for managing procrastination, perfectionism, negative self-talk, organization, and everyday challenges.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Increase psychological flexibility while learning to respond differently to self-criticism, frustration, and difficult emotions. Therapy also focuses on building a life that reflects your values rather than unrealistic expectations.
Executive Functioning & Skill Building
Develop individualized strategies for planning, prioritizing, organization, routines, time management, and follow-through that work with your brain—not against it.
Nervous System & Somatic Approaches
Explore how chronic stress, overwhelm, and emotional intensity affect both the mind and body while developing practical tools that support emotional regulation and resilience.
