Women's Mental Health
Women's mental health is influenced by many factors throughout life, including relationships, caregiving responsibilities, career demands, reproductive health, hormonal changes, and major life transitions. These experiences can affect emotional well-being in ways that are often overlooked or misunderstood.
Therapy provides a space to better understand these challenges, develop practical coping strategies, and navigate life's changes with greater confidence, flexibility, and self-compassion.
Please note: I provide psychotherapy to support women's mental health. I do not provide medical treatment, prescribe medication, or manage hormonal conditions. When appropriate, I work collaboratively with your primary care provider, OB-GYN, psychiatrist, or other healthcare professionals as part of your overall care.
Common Reasons People Seek Therapy
Women seek therapy for many different reasons, including:
Anxiety and chronic stress
Burnout and balancing multiple responsibilities
Pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, or changes in family roles
Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD)
Perimenopause and menopause-related emotional changes
Fertility challenges or pregnancy loss
Caregiving stress
Relationship concerns
Self-esteem and body image concerns
Grief, loss, and major life transitions
Workplace stress and career demands
Emotional effects of chronic medical conditions
Many women spend years caring for others while placing their own emotional well-being last. Therapy creates space to focus on your needs, your goals, and your overall well-being.
My Approach
Women's mental health is shaped by the interaction of biological, psychological, social, cultural, and environmental factors. Therapy recognizes this complexity rather than viewing emotional distress through a single lens.
Together, we explore the challenges you're experiencing while developing practical strategies that support emotional well-being, healthy relationships, and resilience throughout different stages of life.
Depending on your needs, therapy may incorporate:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Identify patterns of thinking that contribute to anxiety, self-criticism, perfectionism, or emotional distress while developing healthier responses.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Strengthen psychological flexibility, clarify personal values, and make choices that support the life you want to build—even during periods of uncertainty or change.
Nervous System & Somatic Approaches
Develop greater awareness of how chronic stress, hormonal changes, caregiving demands, and life experiences affect both the mind and body while learning practical strategies that support emotional regulation.
Mindfulness & Self-Compassion
Cultivate greater awareness, emotional balance, and self-compassion while reducing the impact of chronic stress and unrealistic expectations.
